The Scottish Highlands-inspired Stone Circle Cottage will have you feeling like you've been transported to the Highlands. Nestled in a grove of rhododendrons and mountain laurel, this home has the feeling of seclusion while only being a few minutes from town. A large deck offers winter views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, if the weather is nice, dine alfresco as you take in the beauty of the mountains. As the sun dips behind the mountains, curl up in front of the wood-burning stove, available for use in the winter months, and put your favorite movie on the Smart TV (streaming & Youtube).

During the day, the many windows in the cathedral-ceilinged great room and the white walls make the space airy and bright. The kitchen is cozy and well-equipped with a Dutch oven, food processor, and all the basics you need to craft the meals you love. The main floor has the dining room, a living room with two twin sleeper chairs, a kitchen, a bedroom with a King bed, and a full hall bath. Upstairs has an additional bedroom with a king bed and a full hall bath, along with a small outdoor balcony.

Just minutes away from the charming downtown Black Mountain, it's easy to pop into one of our bakeries or coffee shops for a morning treat. Grab an orange roll and a chocolate croissant from Four Sisters Bakery - and pick up a loaf of rosemary and olive oil focaccia for dinner while you're there. Head back to the house with your spoils, or adventure into Montreat for a nice morning hike. Attempt Graybeard Mountain, a 5,550ft summit with a 9-mile round trip trail ending in stunning views of the Montreat valley to the south and Mount Mitchell to the north. Spend your evening browsing the lovely shops in downtown Black Mountain, stopping into Black Mountain Brewing for a taste of our local flavor and a nice dry stout or IPA. In Asheville, take in our vibrant art scene and plan a day browsing the many galleries that line the downtown and River Arts District as well as our museums. Take a ride up the Blue Ridge Parkway on your way into town, to visit the Folk Art Center. With daily craft demonstrations and exhibits with pieces from early Appalachian cultures to today, this is an experience you won't want to miss.

Spend a few hours in the newly renovated Asheville Museum of Art - exploring the large collection of artists associated with the Black Mountain College and pieces by local artists from now and times long gone by. Finish your day of art in Asheville with a taste of culinary art at Vivian in the River Arts District. Vivian creates honest American food with big flavors, that utilize the bountiful products of our region and the European heritage. The menu is ever-changing, but expect bold and delicious no matter what. Perhaps sneak in a visit to Wedge Brewing before heading back to Stone Circle Cottage and get a Margarita Gose or Silver Spike IPA.

Linens (sheets and towels) are provided for your convenience. Stone Circle Cottage is also pet-friendly with an additional pet fee (2 dogs max).

Enjoyed everything about comfort of the cottage. Good location near town. Kitchen well equipped and handy for cooking meals, which we did a lot. Only problem in kitchen was two burners are out off order on range.

The house was a perfect size, kitchen was adequately stocked and the location was fantastic. WIFI was excellent! Views at sunrise/sunset on deck was AMAZING!! Downsides were one of the main (largest) burners on stove did not work. No king size mattress - as advertised available in house, only two beds with twin mattress pushed together. The first floor bathroom bathtub did not drain. The furniture in family room and dining room was very uncomfortable. Lastly, the house had an overwhelming musty smell, (similar to mothball smell).

This cottage is just perfect for us. Very close to town but very private and peaceful. It has everything needed for a wonderful Black Mountain visit. This is our second stay here and (hopefully) it will not be our last.

We loved the feeling of being totally surrounded by trees and yet so close to Montreat hiking trails, the Bush Farm Restaurant, plus the golf course. This was truly a wonderful location for a birthday weekend celebration! We also enjoyed our visit to the River Arts District in Ashville, a short drive from Black Mountain. The home was perfect with a larger bedroom and bath on the 2nd floor plus a second bedroom and bath on the first floor which came in handy when my son visited.

As always, our reservation with Greybeard Realty was seamless and easy. Stone Circle cottage was a charming home, a 5 minute drive to town and only 15-20 minutes from Asheville. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Private yet close to downtown Black Mountain. We loved be able to bring our dogs too! The pumpkin bread that was left for us when we arrived was a lovely touch!

The surprise that was Black Mountain. We THOUGHT we were staying to visit Asheville. Instead, we found the Black Mountain town and surrounding area all we needed for a quick get away.

We love the many windows and doors with screens in Stone Circle cottage. Weather was perfect and the opening windows to the fresh air made it the perfect mountain retreat.

We so loved the Stone Circle Cottage. We loved the privacyset back in the trees with a forest all around. The cottage is spacious, clean and so pretty. The kitchen is more than fully equipped for any kind of cooking, the whole cottage sunny and bright. We loved listening to the wood thrush sing his flute bird songs and the butterflies flitting all around and we were lucky to hit the mountain laurel blooming. The location is perfectBlack Mtn with all the charm and conveniences and Montreat with its beautiful trails are both close by. What a lovely time we had!

This is a lovely private house. We really enjoyed sitting out on the the deck overlooking the woods. Beautifully furnished but comfortable as well. Just a short drive to downtown Black Mountain.

We had a very pleasant time in Black Mountain, NC. The home was a wonderful getaway for a few days of vacation. It was a very nice home with beautiful furnishings. Everything you needed was available. It was a quick drive to The Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as Asheville, NC. The village had nice shops and good restaurants.

Our week-long stay at Stone Circle Cottage was exactly what I wanted for my birthday. Sitting on the deck with morning coffee or evening wine was cozy and private at this time of year. The amenities of the cottage were just as promised. Greybeard Rental was supportive and easy to work with.

The house was clean and orderly upon arrival. There were some spiderwebs on the outdoor furniture but given the location, that was to be expected. The location is great! Only a 5 minute drive or so to downtown Black Mountain and about 15 minutes to Asheville. On top of everything else, the pumpkin bread left by the company was amazing. (seriously, I would rent again for that alone) It was a lovely treat. Overall this place was great and peaceful. Would rent again for sure.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We had everything we needed and the house was very clean. We spent time on the porch appreciating the changing light and colour on the mountain and the sound of the birds while still being close to amenities.

The Stone Circle Cottage and renting from the Greybeard Realty team was a great experience. The staff was professional and quick to resolve to an issue with a tripped circuit breaker on a holiday. Would certainly look to Greybeard again on future trips to the Asheville/Black Mountain Area.

The house is secluded from the street and neighbors, so it feels that you are really away from everything. Beautiful wooded views all around. The house was just as described, and met or exceeded our expectations. It looks like an interior designer decorated the house, and I should know, as I'm married to a designer. We will certainly try to rent this property again, when we only need two bedrooms.

the location of the home was excellent! private, close to town and nature. The home was very clean. If I was to offer any criticism of the home, I would say the decor and furnishings were odd. But this should in no way affect your decision to stay here

Charming Stone Circle Cottage

My family spent Christmas week in the cottage. It was cozy (there is a wood fireplace) with spacious lounging and dining areas. Lovely porches with a view, nearby golf course for walking. The village is charming as well with a nice selection of restaurants and shops. Greybeard Rentals was very professional; nothing was lacking on their end.

A very enjoyable area to visit. The location of the house afforded us an easy commute to and from our excursions. The geography is stunning and black mountain and ashville were nice towns to spend time and money. The Greybread service and instruction were right on. Thanks

We had a wonderful vacation and the house was the perfect size in a great location. The house was decorated so well and provided a warm and cozy environment! The view from the back porch was wonderful. We had fun exploring Black Mountain, visiting the Biltmore, and exploing other towns and places nearby. Black Mountain is a charming town and everyone was so nice! We would definitely recommend this rental for those vacationing in the area.

The home was very clean and comfortable. It had all the ammenities we could have needed. Very close to town but still isolated. Loved the home made bread!!

Great cottage for my sister, me and our husbands for a long weekend. Enjoyed breakfast on the porch, but afternoon rains kept us from using it more. Great location. We could walk to the golf course and the lake. Two suggestions to make everything perfect: put some clothes hangers in the closets and a pairing knife in the kitchen. We would definitely rent again.

The cottage was comfortable and well maintained. It had a lovely open downstairs area with sets of French doors opening to a wrap around deck. Nestled among trees and rhododendrons, it was quiet and tranquil.

We rented Stone Circle in March and before leaving Black Mountain rented it again for a week this summer. It is located in a very quiet secluded neighborhood surrounded by woods and walking trails. The home layout is great with seperate bedroom/bath up and down. The deck across the back of the home gives a great view of the mountains. House is very well equipped.

This home has it all. It's location high up on the mountain gave us wonderful views and a lot of cool air. the dcor is beautiful and user friendly. We loved every min. for the whole month of Aug. and look forward to the next time.

We he a great time at Stone Circle Cottage. We spent a lit if time on the huge porch! Loved the decor and comfort of the house- very warm and homey. We had everything we needed and then some ( thank you Greybeard Realty for the pumpkin bread - that was a sweet thought )
We all decided that we will be back and would love to stay here again

Just a comment about a small problem. One roll of toliet paper was left for us, but we couldn't figure out how to split it between two bathrooms. There were three of us, and the bathrooms had only about 1/20 of a roll left in each. Also, there was no soap in the upstairs bathroom . A quick trip to CVS took care of our problem,, but in many years of renting vacation homes - this is a first for us. Otherwise the home was nice and the location was very good for us. Make sure you stock up on toilet paper and soap before you come and you will be fine.

The cottage was cozy and welcoming! The view of the mountains out the back of the house, along with the wrap around deck (with rocking chairs) was breath taking. Black Mountain was a delightful town with great restaurants, shopping and breweries. Close enough to Blue Ridge Parkway and Biltmore.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Stone Circle Cottage is located in Black Mountain. This home is approximately a 5-minute drive to downtown Black Mountain and a 25-minute drive to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

This property offers a flexible cancellation policy that differs from the standard cancellation policy. The policy for this home is the moderate policy. The terms of the policy are as stated: Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund. Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive 50% refund.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Stone Circle Cottage is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs under 25 lbs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash. 

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Stone Circle Cottage has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

Stone Circle Cottage has a wood burning fireplace for guests to use. Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have a small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store. 

Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. Since this home does not provide an outdoor fire pit, absolutely NO fires are permitted outside, and you cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Stone Circle Cottage. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
