Where you'll go to relax and unwind. Located in a private, gated community, Pine Creek Cabin is tucked away in the midst of a 3,000-acre nature preserve. Sit out by the outdoor fire pit, enjoy a competitive game of cornhole, or take a soak in the hot tub- you'll fall in love with the peaceful surroundings of the pines and creeks on both sides of the cabin. Pine Creek Cabin is located in Old Fort where you'll have exclusive access to the waterfall park and Lake George access in Gateway Mountain (a 10-minute drive from the cabin) and a 20-minute drive from the gorgeous Catawba Falls trail.

The home is approximately a 30-40 minute drive to the charming towns of Black Mountain and Marion. You'll love exploring the local shops, restaurants, and breweries in downtown Marion. Marion's Mica Town Brewing Company, Refinery 13 Taproom, and Spillway Bridge & Co are local spots to enjoy an evening out. In Black Mountain, enjoy live music at Pisgah Brewing before hopping over to Lookout Brewing and Black Mountain Brewing to enjoy even more local craft beers. For incredible food, check out Foothills Butcher Bar, Black Mountain Bistro, or Que Sera. You are also 45 minutes to Downtown Asheville, the Biltmore Estate, Chimney Rock, and Lake Lure.

House Layout: Main Level- Open living room, kitchen, and dining area; living room with wood-burning fireplace, TV (streaming only), and floor-to-ceiling windows; Dining table with seating for 4; Full kitchen with all basic amenities including Keurig and standard coffee maker, dishwasher, and island (seating for 4); Half bath; king bedroom with en suite bathroom (walk-in shower only) & twin bed with twin trundle. Upper Level- a King bedroom with en suite bathroom (shower/tub combo). Outdoors- Wrap around porch (partially covered) with gas grill and table (seating for 4) bar top (seating for 2) plus seating area; hot tub on the patio; Outdoor fire pit next to the creek; Cornhole boards; Creekside deck area.

Please note: Pine Creek Cabin is pet friendly with an additional pet fee. There is limited cell reception at the cabin, but there is a landline with unlimited long-distance calls. WIFI is available, but data is limited due to the service provider and location. Streaming movies, music, or playing games is possible through the internet, but keep in mind that doing so uses up the data more quickly (which eventually makes it very slow). 

No parking is allowed on roadways or at gate entrances. No RVs, boat trailers, camping trailers, or trailers of any kind are permitted in the Gateway Mountain Community. During the colder winter months, icy and/or snowy road conditions and delayed snow plow operations are possible within the development. From December through March, please come prepared with AWD or 4WD vehicles. We also recommend travel insurance for those staying in the Gateway Mountain development during the winter months.

Couldn’t get away long distance but this felt like an “away” vacation. Secluded, quiet, and very peaceful especially with the creek in front of the large deck. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Very Peaceful Location

The cabin is tucked into a private clearing in the woods. The creek has a tiny waterfall and sounds so peaceful. You can hear it from the porch. The kitchen is well stocked. There’s limited to no cell service, and internet is slow, but with such a peaceful location, why do you need it! Hillman Beer in Old Fort is a wonderful dining experience if you want to dine out. Highly recommend this cabin, and would definitely go back.

This is our second stay at the Pine Creek Cabin. We have 2 and 5yo boys that get up, eat breakfast, and then spend the rest of the day outside running and exploring. They only come back when they're hungry. It's easy for my wife and I to sit on the deck and keep an eye on them. We come here to get away. After getting groceries and cinnamon buns from town, we hunker down and forget the outside world. This is the perfect place if that!

Spent a weekend here right after Thanksgiving with another couple and two dogs. The cabin was very spacious, comfortable and well situated to take advantage of the sunshine. Outside was amazing with a huge covered porch and we really enjoyed using the fire pit and hot tub. Lots of room to walk the dogs and there are good options for hiking nearby. All in all a great stay and I'd highly recommend.

My husband and I along with our two kids stayed in Pine Creek Cabin and really enjoyed our laid back stay. The cabin was cozy and the outdoors was a highlight. We loved sitting out on the deck all times of the day, roasting smores in the fire pit, and enjoyed the sounds and sights of the creek. The accommodations were nice and communication was easy. We also loved the neighborhood and hiking to the waterfall, which we had all to ourselves. I highly recommend this cabin and Gateway Mountain.

My family Chas been using grey beard for years. We love their friendliness and service. We booked the pine creek cabin for spring break and really enjoyed the serenity that this place has. The creek outback just was so peaceful and relaxing. The house is well appointed and had everything we needed. I will say if your needing to have cellular service this is not your place as we had none, but that turned out to be just fine for us!

The cabin had every amenity that could possibly be thought of! I've stayed at several cabin to where even common kitchen items were sparse. This cabin had it all and it was beautiful and roomy.

Pine creek cabin was perfect for our getaway with friends! The hot tub and relaxing in front of the fire at night were our favorite things to do after a day exploring the mountains.

My favorite thing was having my breakfast and coffee on the porch and enjoying nature! This was an amazing cabin and a beautiful location!!! The cabin was perfect, everything was clean in the cabin and the kitchen had a great supply of kitchen gadgets! My husband and I came to North Carolina to ride our motorcycle on the Blue Ridge Parkway so the cabin's location made that a little tricky since the driveway was steep and gravel and some of the road was not paved but we made it work, so would not recommend having a motorcycle for this cabin. That all being said this cabin is great for a relaxing time in a beautiful location and the cabin was everything I'd hope for and more.

Beautiful property - quiet, serene, babbling brook right down the hill from a lovely rustic covered porch. But there is nothing rustic about the amenities in this well-appointed cabin. Be prepared to relax and enjoy. Wish we could have stayed longer!

If you're looking for a very secluded spot with no neighbors in sight and no cell service this is the place to be! (Don't worry, there is WiFi and TV) The drive to the cabin is quite an adventure. I have no idea how they paved roads that steep but I am impressed. We had no problems in a car but I imagine AWD is a must in the winter. It does take 20ish minutes just to get out of the community and down the mountain. And I wasn't brave enough to try it at night so be forewarned that if you want to go out after dark this may not be the place for you. That being said, there is zero need to leave this place. The inside is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The cabin is not huge but it felt spacious. There was enough privacy between the upstairs and downstairs master suites that I would be very comfortable staying here with another couple. We cooked/grilled most of the time and had everything we needed. The outside is just magical. We spent so much time on the deck, in the hot tub and by the fire pit. Our dogs loved splashing through the creek and collecting sticks in the yard. I loved that it was easy to spray them off with the hose if their paws got muddy. And a washer/dryer to wash our stuff that got dirty was a perk. A word of advice would be to buy a bundle of firewood before checking in and either eat or bring some initial groceries with you because it's a bit of a drive to the store. Basically I wish we could just live here because it really felt like home.

Exactly as pictured. Feels secluded without actually being isolated as it's only a 30-45 min drive to Asheville and several great nearby trails. Hosts were excellent and were very quick to respond.

Peace. Quiet except for the sound of bubbling creeks. Being mostly cut off from the rest of the world. A clean, exquisitely well maintained property that was exactly as described, and then some. A deck with many comfortable chairs from which to relax and listen to the wind and the water. A fantastic fireplace that when properly filled with a fire, radiated heat and contentment. An extremely capable entertainment system that worked exceedingly well despite limited internet speed. Comfortable beds, a comfortable shower, and a kitchen with every pan, pot, and utensil you could possible need. Sharp knives that made preparing food easy work.

We had an amazing stay with two teenage girls and two big dogs. Beautiful setting. Really enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, and the sound of the streams. Also the house was well-stocked and comfortable.

We needed a peaceful getaway and this place is ideal! The cabin itself is beautiful with all of the amenities you need, and it's located next to a little creek that is so serene. It's in a gated community, but far enough away from other properties that you feel perfectly secluded. There's also a great little hike to a waterfall located within the community itself. Great place to get away and recharge, we will definitely be coming back!

Just the nice and quiet get away that we wanted. Couldn't have imagined any better. The cleanest place we've ever stayed in also. Beautiful mountains. It was the best plan to make since hurricane Dorian ruin our cruise trip. We are planning another stay here in the near future.

The house and location are beautiful. A secluded getaway to unwind, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains, with the soothing sound of the creek in the background. Everything was immaculate and as described. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare a few good family dinners. Make sure you thoroughly plan your grocery needs, it's a good 25 minute twisty, windy drive to the store.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Pine Creek Cabin is located in Old Fort in Gateway Mountain. This home is approximately 30 minutes to Black Mountain and Marion, and approximately 45 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

This property offers a flexible cancellation policy that differs from the standard cancellation policy. The policy for this home is the moderate policy. The terms of the policy are as stated: Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund. Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive 50% refund.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Pine Creek Cabin is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Pine Creek Cabin is located in a gated community. You must go to our Old Fort Office at 243 Catawba Ave S to pick up your gate card. Driving directions to our Old Fort Office, along with access instructions will be sent out via email. Once you have picked up your gate card, you can proceed to the house. Please do not rely on GPS. We will provide you with driving directions to Pine Creek Cabin from our Old Fort Office.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Pine Creek Cabin Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
