Upon arriving at this quintessential log cabin, take time to survey the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains from the wraparound deck of Days Like This. At this home, you can bring the entire family along, which means up to 2 dogs are welcome for an additional fee. In the morning, step outside to feel the fresh mountain breeze on your face while sipping your morning coffee in the rocking chairs on the wraparound deck, or take a seat at the kitchen bar to enjoy a hearty breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and fresh fruit before embarking on your adventures for the day. In the afternoon, return home and take some time for yourself by reading a book in the cozy upstairs loft or taking an afternoon catnap. In the evening, use the spacious chef's kitchen and charcoal grill to whip up a smoky and delectable dinner of BBQ wings or steak to be enjoyed at the outdoor dining table while the sun sets over the majestic mountain peaks.

After dinner, enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine on the deck around the fire table while swapping stories, roasting s'mores, and planning out tomorrow's activities. Located within a designated IDA (International Dark Sky Community), you'll be able to watch the constellations dance and sparkle across the sky on clear nights. Days Like This is located in the quaint town of Marion within the private Grants Mountain community, offering endless natural beauty along with the convenience of being 2 miles from downtown. Spend your days exploring the many shops, cafes, and restaurants before enjoying some nightlife at Mica Town Brewing Company and Spillway Bridge & Co., or head over to the charming town of Black Mountain, which offers even more shops, art galleries, parks, and incredible restaurants like Fresh Woodfired Pizza, Open Oven Cafe & Bakery, and Tayloe's Oyster Bar.

For lake enthusiasts, this home is around 35 minutes from Lake James and just under 50 minutes from Lake Lure, where you can spend your days sunbathing, swimming, and boating. For hiking enthusiasts, this home is about an hour's drive from the "gorge"-ous Linville Gorge Wilderness area and iconic Blue Ridge Parkway, which offers plenty of overlooks and hiking opportunities to choose from. Don't forget that no trip to the mountains of Western North Carolina is complete without experiencing the "Land of Sky," Asheville, located just 45 minutes away. While there, be sure to check out the hip and artsy West Asheville district, North Carolina Arboretum, and America's Largest Home, the Biltmore Estate. Asheville is also home to an impressive number of award-winning restaurants and breweries that you can sample in between all your activities. Embracing the song of its namesake, Days Like This invites you to leave your worries behind and focus on the better days and joy ahead of you at this charming mountain cabin!

Please Note: This rental IS pet friendly with an additional fee. There are EXTERIOR security cameras and a ring doorbell camera on the property. We recommend purchasing your own bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at a local grocery store for the wood-burning fireplace. While paved roads make it easy to access this mountaintop paradise, we still strongly recommend arriving during daylight hours the first time to get your bearings.

Greybeard homes are located in close proximity to Pisgah National Forest. Ladybugs and Kudzu Beetles may be seen in our area in the fall and winter months, and it is not uncommon for them to find their way into homes to escape the cooler weather from time to time. They are not poisonous and cannot be exterminated.

If your looking for a little privacy and quiet in your life than days like this home is just what the doctor ordered. House/cabin is a beauty with a perfect view of the mountains. (Weather permitting) If we are in the area again we would definitely stay here. And the pictures on the wall of the build, who I would think are the owners was great to see. You built a beauty!! Thank you!

Overall

This cabin is a wonderful value with a million dollar view of the mountains. It is an easy 35 minutes drive to Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. Really enjoyed the stay.

Overall

Really enjoyed it. Couldn't ask for a better place! Great view and very relaxing....Greybeard rentals did a fantastic job. Have used them in the past and always give them and excellent rating! ... only thing I would recommend or that I would have liked was another TV somewhere in the house, preferably in the main room area. Just one TV in the house for multiple guest wanting to watch different things. But overall. Everything was Excellent, very nice place and highly recommend! Thank you again Greybeard rentals.

Overall

The view was perfect and the cabin was everything you could ask for. The only complaint was that there was excessive pet hair in the master bedroom, but Greybeard was very responsive to the complaint. We would definitely use this cabin again in the future.

Overall

The cabin was clean and welcoming. It looked exactly like the pictures and the view of the mountains was gorgeous. I recommend that the owner clears the parts of the breathtaking view of the mountains that is blocked by the trees close to the house. Excellent cabin.

The house is beautiful! We loved how secluded it was yet once down the mountain we were close to Ingles and I40.
Property is super cozy and we loved the real fireplace and high windows with amazing views!

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Days Like This is located within the private Grants Mountain Community in Marion. This home is approximately a 10-minute drive to downtown Marion, a 20-minute drive to Old Fort, a 25-minute drive to Black Mountain, a 35-minute drive to Lake James, a 40- minute drive to Asheville, and a 45-minute drive to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

This property offers a flexible cancellation policy that differs from the standard cancellation policy. The policy for this home is the moderate policy. The terms of the policy are as stated: Bookings canceled at least 30 days before the start of the stay will receive 100% refund. Bookings canceled at least 14 days before the start of the stay will receive 50% refund.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Days Like This is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Days Like This has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1 which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

Days Like This is outfitted with an indoor wood-burning fireplace. Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard, but it is possible that the house will have a small leftover supply of firewood for renter use. We recommend purchasing your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store.

Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited, but you can use limbs found on the ground. This home does not have an outdoor fire pit which means absolutely NO fires are permitted outside, and you cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Days Like This. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
