Modern comforts meet Montreat in this lovely home. Mountain View offers a vista of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the expansive wrap-around deck. In the mornings, grab a cup of coffee and watch as the sun rises over Rainbow Ridge before setting out for the day. Spacious and clean, the cathedral ceilings and large windows in the main living space allow for lots of light. Spend your evenings together, munching on some popcorn, in front of the wood-burning fireplace as you watch a movie on the large smart TV in the living room. Or, battle it out over a game of air hockey or pool in the garage game room. Dine together, either inside at the table with space for eight, or outside on either level of the porch. Grill out on the driveway with the charcoal or gas grill. Equipped with A/C, heat, wifi, and cable television - you'll have everything you need to enjoy your Montreat getaway.

With several sleeping spaces, this home will be perfect for your family or group. The master bedroom has access to the back deck and a large ensuite bathroom. Upstairs are two bedrooms - one with a queen, the other with a queen and a twin bunk bed - a recently renovated hall bath, and a small sitting area with a twin sleeper chair. In the basement is a large sleeping area with two twin beds and an en suite bathroom. Additional sleeping space in the living room with the queen sleeper sofa. Located right inside the Montreat gate, it's a short drive to the conference center. This home is a short walk away from the West Ridge and Lower Piney trailheads, moderate connector trails in the Montreat system.

House Layout: Main Floor- Den, Hall Bath, Kitchen, Master bedroom with ensuite, Laundry room. Second Floor- Full Hall Bath, Bedroom with a queen, Bedroom with queen and twin bunk beds, small common area. Basement- Bedroom with 2 twins, Full Hall Bath, Game Room in Garage.

Please Note: This home is pet friendly with an additional pet fee. This home is equipped with a brand-new 26KW Kohler Whole House Backup Generator to ensure guests will not ever be without electricity during their stay. The generator functions quietly and efficiently, coming on automatically within a few seconds whenever power is lost.

The owner keeps a vehicle stored in the garage. This home provides sheets and towels for your visit. For your convenience, beds will be made for stays from mid-August through May. During the summer Montreat Conference season—typically from the 1st Saturday in June to the 1st Saturday in August—the linens will be delivered to the home and available in gray laundry bags.

What a wonderful week we had in Mountain View!!!!!! There was plenty of space for everyone and we especially loved the kitchen and porch and of course the view!!!!! Many special family memories were made this year and we treasure every one!!!!!!! We had two bear sightings “ from a distance” but it made for some very excited grandchildren! We’ll be back next year for sure! Mountain View is a beautiful, comfortable and spacious home and is now our favorite of all the homes we’ve stayed in through the years. My family greatly enjoyed our stay at Mountain View. The view from the back porch is gorgeous. Every part of the house is perfect -- kitchen, den, bedrooms, bathrooms. We wanted for nothing. The kitchen has everything we needed. I highly recommend Mountain View for a wonderful stay with family.

We had such an amazing time at the Mountain View. The house was beautiful, functional and stocked with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, house was clean, and showers were hot. The neighbors were friendly and the view was breathtaking. Thanks again for such a great stay! Things to note/only downsides Too far of a walk to Montreat for a daily commute multiple times a day. It’s a nice walk maybe once or twice, but for conferences when you have multiple events a day, it’s best to make sure you have transportation. The upstairs Ac didn’t work. It was 85 degrees in there at some point. I filled out a maintenance request multiple times and never heard anything. Garbage Disposal doesn’t work. Was unaware that owners car was going to be in the garage. We hoped to store ours in there.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing time. The home is lovely, very clean, extremely organized and laid out well for socializing. Thank you for attending to all the details. I would suggest you add directions for dishwasher to book. We had a bit of trouble with that.

The home was very spacious and properly equipped. The views are amazing and the fireplace inside makes for a nice touch. The rooms were clean and the kitchen was easy to use with all of the necessary cooking tools and utensils. The parking is ample and the neighborhood is upscale, safe and very quiet.

Our youth group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mountain View. The house had everything we needed and more, and we especially enjoyed the porch and downstairs game area.

The cabin, the location, the views from the decks, the space, the game room, Black Mountain town, Asheville, the arts, the hiking, water falls, bears, the weather, all the parks, the food. We met here from three separate states, and the extended family (6 adults, and two 3-year olds) were able to enjoy the location. The property is accessible for a minivan and is on an asphalt road. We found it best to go to the end of the road to turn back down and align yourself up to back down the driveway. We had 4 cars. Three would provide enough room for a 3-point turn within the drive way.

We absolutely loved Mountain View! What a beautiful home, with an incredible view. House was lovely, wonderful amenities in the house, comfortable beds, everything labeled so nicely, and great kitchen!

The views from the property are gorgeous. The people around the neighborhood are very sweet. The morning walks are heavenly. We loved the stay and would surely rent again!

My family of 6 adults felt completely at home at this location. It was quiet, clean, linens were of a high quality, the kitchen was well-stocked. This was my first experience with Greybeard, but I will certainly consider this rental company when searching again. They were very easy to work with and provided very complete and clear instructions.

Montreat is special and this property provides a great way to enjoy the area. The house is in good condition and well equipped. The mountain views from the patio are wonderful. The pool table and air hockey are a popular diversion for both children and adults. Hiking trails and Lake Susan are not far away. We (five adults and two children) had a wonderful week here.

The house was the best one I've stayed in. Wonderful view from the porch. Porches, rec room, great room & breakfast room provided plenty of space for our families of six adults & four children to spread out. Air hockey was a big hit for two of the children. Also, handicapped accessible which will be a plus for my wife & me (in our 70s) as we get older if we are lucky enough to stay here in the future.

We've stayed in Montreat a couple times and this house is one of them with a better view, definitely a favorite. Clean, and perfect size for a family gathering. Close to the town of black mountain for deliciousmeals and also close to the well maintained Montreat hiking trails

We rented this lovely home with friends and we’re all very happy with our decision. Very clean, roomy and cozy. Everything we needed was in the home and the location was convenient to town with restaurants and stores. Would definitely recommend Mountain View as well as Greybeard. We rented this house over the holidays to be with our kids and grandchildren. Everybody loved the house, which has a beautiful view. It's very comfortable and was a great size for our family. The bedrooms are a nice size, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the cookware was top notch. It's only a few minutes from downtown Black Mountain, a lovely town which has lots of nice shops, and about 30 minutes from Asheville.

Very nice home. We were in town for a bachelor party, so the home had plenty of room for the group. Rustic enough to have a vacation feel, but modern enough not to feel dated. The only issue is we could not get the wi-fi working and some of our cell signals were spotty, but we let management know.

My friends and I had a nice stay after a long day of racing in Mountain View. Plenty of room, a quiet mountain retreat! When we race again in Black Mountain, we will definitely stay here again. Greybeard Realty, they were so nice to work with, thank you a a great weekend stay.

Our group consisted of 9 members of our family including children and adults enjoyed this home immensely. We have rented houses all over the country and this is one of the nicest! Loved the fact they had enough starter supplies for us like paper towels, toilet paper, spices, dish soap, trash bags, etc. The kids loved playing air hockey, pool and pong pong. The house is extremely well-maintained with very nice furniture, dishwear, and every thing you could possibly need in a kitchen. This is certainly one of the very nicest rentals in Montreat and amongst the best we have experienced! I highly recommend!

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Mountain View is located in Montreat. This home is approximately 10 minutes to Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Mountain View is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash. 

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season. 

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Mountain View has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have a small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store.

Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Mountain View. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
