The main floor offers a cozy living room with a TV (cable and DVD player available), a dining room with seating for up to 8, a kitchen with 2 standard drip coffeemakers (no dishwasher available), a full hall bath with a shower & tub combo, and a bedroom with two twin beds. Upstairs, you'll find another full hall bath with a clawfoot tub and shower and two bedrooms, each with two full-size beds. Explore Montreat's endless trail system that winds through lush rhododendron, alongside babbling creeks, and that scale cliff faces overlooking the valley and towns below. For avid hikers, Lookout Mountain is a great trail that rings in at just under a mile long and offers stunning panoramic mountain views, and there's also the epic 4.8-mile Graybeard trail with several spur trails, including one that leads to Walker Knob and another that leads to Graybeard Falls.

Black Bear Cottage is also less than 10 minutes from Black Mountain. Known as the “Front Porch of Western North Carolina,” you’ll spot the iconic red rocking chairs throughout this treasured small town that stand as your reminder to slow down, pull up a chair, and relax.
