With a dedicated home office and high-speed internet available, guests can expect all the comforts of home with the ability to stay connected during their extended vacation. While residential, Davenport Cottage's recent addition of a privacy wall on the back deck, along with a fenced-in backyard, offers guests an unexpected haven for discussing the day's adventures, dining al fresco, and playing fetch with your furry friend.

Embodying the hip & revitalized vibes of West Asheville, Davenport Cottage is within walking distance to Haywood Road-the epicenter of West Asheville. When you wake up, start your day off right by grabbing a peachy Belgian waffle at the mostly vegetarian & always healthy Sunflower Diner or sit down to a late morning brunch of Chicken & Waffles at Sunny Point Cafe. After breakfast, spend your day sifting through vintage vinyl at Harvest Records, searching for second-hand gems at Twice Round, picking out a new read at Bagatelle Books, and treating yourself to an adorable souvenir at Whist. For lunch, try Asheville Sandwich Company. While their Reuben is truly out of this world, you can't go wrong with anything on their menu, especially when paired with one of their unique sides like the spicy cauliflower bites or bahn mi fries.

Later on, sample local brews at Cellarest Beer Project, which offers an open-air patio to soak up the sun while you sip on their barrel-aged ales and lagers. If you want to visit breweries from around the world in one place, visit The Whale, a craft beer collective with rotating taps and an extensive bottle selection to enjoy there or take home. Close to Haywood is the River Arts District, where you'll find the iconic silo & 200+ working studios that house regional pottery, jewelry, metalwork, and more.

While here, take a selfie in front of the street art that covers 13+ acres. Foundation Walls is one of the best places to view graffiti murals, and it's also home to Wedge Brewing Co., where you'll find a rotating food truck, spacious patio, and flagship pours like their beloved Iron Rail IPA. The River Arts District is also home to two other well-known breweries: Noble Cider and New Belgium Brewing, both of which offer impressive tours. In the evening, return home to Haywood Road to enjoy a savory quesadilla at Taco Boy or a fresh Carribean-inspired dish at Nine Mile. If you're interested in exploring other parts of Asheville, you're 10 minutes from downtown & Biltmore Forest where you'll find the historic Biltmore Estate.

House Layout:
Main Level- Living room w/smart TV (streaming only) and electric, wall-mounted fireplace; fully-equipped kitchen w/standard coffee maker, dishwasher, and eat-in nook w/seating for 6; bedroom with 2 twin beds; full hall bath w/tub & shower; primary bedroom with King bed; home office w/desk and full-size sleeper sofa.
Lower Level- Basement w/washer & dryer. The basement is not accessible through the house. You must go out the back door & down the steps to access it. Renters can use the basement for storage.
Outdoors- Back deck w/privacy panel, outdoor seating & gas grill; fenced back yard

PLEASE NOTE: This home IS pet friendly with an additional fee. This home requires a 30-night minimum. The owners keep a Prius parked in a gravel area to the left of the driveway. Included in the monthly rent is a $150 monthly allowance for power, gas, and water. Any overages are to be reimbursed by the tenant. A monthly cleaning service is required for stays longer than 30 nights.

Location is quiet and peaceful. Lots of nice neighborhood walks. It is convenient to Haywood and the highways . We enjoyed having breakfast on the back deck and listening to the birds. The house is well stocked and comfortable.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Davenport Cottage is located in Asheville. The home is approximately 5 minutes from Haywood Road (the main street of West Asheville) 10 minutes from downtown Asheville and The Biltmore Estate, 15 minutes from the Asheville Regional Airport, and 25 minutes from Black Mountain. WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Davenport Cottage is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $250 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash. 

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

You will receive check-in instructions prior to your arrival with driving directions and key access information. You do not need to stop by our office to pick up your keys. You will go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

IS THERE AN INDOOR FIREPLACE? 

There is an electric wall mounted fireplace in the living room that can be used year round.

IS THERE AN OUTDOOR FIRE PIT? 

This home does not provide an outdoor fire pit. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit, and you cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Davenport Cottage. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
