For the first time in its history, the Maui Invitational will take place on the mainland, and Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville will be the venue for the annual college basketball tournament. All games will take place in a bubble environment that limits the movements and interactions of players, staff, officials, and media outside the venue.
The invitational has been rescheduled to take place from Monday, November 30 to Wednesday, December 2. Participating teams include:
- University of North Carolina
- Indiana University
- Davidson College
- University of Alabama
- Providence College
- University of Texas
- Stanford
- UNLV
The Tournament is working with the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) to operate with mass gathering guidelines, and they will require those involved to undergo testing throughout the event.
While fans are not currently projected to be able to attend the tournament, this is subject to change as new information becomes available and as the event draws closer.
