Top Breakfast Restaurants in Asheville
There are so many fantastic breakfast restaurants in Asheville that it’s hard for us to choose a few to highlight! We definitely can’t name all of the options in the city, but a few do stand out to us as locals.
Biscuit Head
Biscuit Head, which has two Asheville locations, serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch and relies on local food and supply sources whenever possible. It was founded in 2013 to share a love of southern cooking and a commitment to local food and sustainability. Biscuit Head has always been a popular breakfast spot, with big crowds and positive press—in 2022, it won a Top Five Biscuits in America award from Food & Wine.
The Early Girl Eatery
Early Girl Eatery has been a staple in Asheville for over 20 years! It opened in 2001 on downtown's historic Wall Street and serves more than just breakfast. It's centrally located, making it a convenient option if you want something in downtown Asheville.
Sunnypoint Café
This family-owned independent business is a cherished local favorite! They make all their ingredients from scratch; there’s even an on-site garden where they grow most of their food. For desserts and pastries, grab something at the Rabbit Hole at Sunnypoint!
Where Can I Get the Best Brunch in Asheville?
It’s not quite breakfast, but it’s not lunch either. If only there were a meal for that mid-morning/early afternoon gap…oh wait! There is! Thankfully, there are a ton of incredible brunch spots in Asheville. As big fans of brunch, we’re honestly relieved.
All Day Darling
All Day is true to its namesake—they serve the same menu all day long! It’s a laid-back spot, perfect for settling into your day. Their lineup includes fresh daily baked goods, salads, bowls, sandwiches, and toasts. You can try a bit of anything here, all with fresh, seasonal, locally-grown ingredients.
The Med
After dining here, we honestly think The Med might have the best potatoes in Asheville. And that’s saying something.
This brunch spot is less crowded with children and families and caters to a more adult crowd—perfect for when you’ve had a long night the night before and want some classic old-fashioned brunch fare. Their all-day breakfast is nothing short of incredible, with options like the West Fork hash bowl, loaded biscuit, and classic French toast and pancakes.
Doughnut Shops in Asheville, NC
Who can resist the sugar, flaky goodness of a delectable doughnut? Not us, that’s for sure. There are several doughnut shops in Asheville to explore!
Hole Doughnuts
The doughnuts here are made to order and served piping hot. Treat yourself to a doughnut made with only the finest organic ingredients.
Vortex Doughnuts
Indulge in homemade, high-quality doughnuts at Vortex, along with drip coffee and classic espresso drinks.
Dough House
This delicious shop has vegan donuts made from scratch! It can't get any better than that. There are several gluten-free options here, as well.
