A lot has been written about events and pastimes in Asheville, but, for the young at heart, there are some less-recognized activities that can make a western NC vacation a real trip!
In addition to the incredible local hikes, local family fun ideas and ever-changing Asheville events, it doesn’t take much to find other incredible activities to capture the imagination and energy of the young at heart.
For starters, book a room at Breakout Asheville and spend an hour trying to escape. This escape-room adventure is one of many popping up in cities across the country, and a recent trip there by our family proved to be a fascinating sharing of intellect and good fortune.
For a more athletic experience, swing over to Asheville Treetops Adventure Park, located just five miles from downtown Asheville. Rappel, climb and jump your way through 60 treetop challenges.
If anyone still has energy left, try out Arden’s Launch Trampoline Park, an indoor sports facility about 10 miles south of Asheville, that encourages action and athleticism. Be aware that for safety purposes, jump areas are segregated by age so a full-family romp may not be possible without special arrangements. Like the mountain views, the craft beer options, and the cultural offerings in western NC, family fun is limitless.
