Nestled among the treetops in the Village of Cheshire in Black Mountain, Tranquility Treehouse has the perfect blend of privacy, convenience, and luxury. The Treehouse is designed for single-family or two couples, its three-story layout affording just the right blend of privacy and togetherness. The huge master bedroom and bath occupy the entire top floor, and a large second bedroom with a full bath fills the bottom. The living room, kitchen, and half bath are on the main floor, providing the perfect buffer between public and private. The house features two large covered patios and two covered Juliet balconies (each facing a different direction), perfect for stepping outside for a breath of fresh air while watching the sun rise and set over the stunning mountain peaks. The master bedroom features a custom hand-made king-sized bed with a luxurious memory foam mattress, under a stunning vaulted wood ceiling.

The master bath has an antique claw foot tub, a separate shower, and two sinks. The second bedroom, almost as large as the master, features a queen memory foam mattress along with a cleverly designed queen-sized Murphy bed, allowing the Treehouse to comfortably sleep six adults. The second bedroom also features a large, covered patio affording views of the trees in summer and other treehouses in the distance in winter. (This patio is the owner's favorite spot). Both bedrooms have desks and chairs for those times when work beckons. The living room features a cozy wood-burning fireplace (Dura flame logs only! These can be purchased at local grocery or convenience stores), high-end leather seating, and a 60-inch HDTV with cable and an Apple TV so you can connect to Netflix and all your favorite on-demand programming.

And, of course, you will always have blazingly fast WiFi in every part of the Treehouse. All areas of the Treehouse, including the balconies, are also wired to a Bluetooth-enabled audio system with individual in-room volume control so you can play your favorite songs from your phone. The kitchen is generously equipped with high-end appliances and kitchenware ready for you to cook a delicious feast. The dining room features a custom hand-crafted table with seating for six adults. From the Treehouse you can walk to the Cheshire Village Shops for lunch, take a five-minute trip to the beautiful historic town of Black Mountain for superb food and drink, or be in Asheville, the best small city in America, for a night on the town in about fifteen. The Treehouse is fifteen minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway, twenty to Biltmore, and thirty to Lake Lure.

Please Note: Towels and linens are included. Up to two dogs of any size are welcome at Tranquility Treehouse during your stay for an extra fee. Due to the owner's allergies, regretfully no cats are allowed. The gas logs fireplace in the lower-level Queen bedroom is NOT usable.

The home space and furnishings were terrific, but the house is beginning to need some painting and quite a bit of black mold or mildew in the upstairs bathroom shower corners. Not too big a deal to clean. We will be back to the mountains of Black Mountain and specifically the Cheshire Community. We love it there. Thank you.

The peace and handsome furnishings of Tranquility Treehouse was a summer gift. When not napping, walking, or reading we ate some joyful meals thanks to dining options less than a mile away. Beradu market’s offerings were so superb that we dined in the Tranquility Treehouse two nights! And then we tried Sake-Sushi and it was so outstanding that we bemoaned it being our last night before departure. (The server, Eric, was pure joy.) Cheshire Village is minutes from the heartbeat and center of Black Mountain -including another fine spot, The Pure & Proper. Thank you, amazing Greybeard Rentals!

Had a wonderful time!! The house was super clean and well stocked! The kitchen had everything we needed. The appliances were great! It took us a few minutes to learn the gas stove and oven, as compared to our electric oven. The instructions to use the television and Bluetooth audio were straightforward and clear. Listening to music while sitting on the deck made for a relaxing vacation! One of our remotes failed, but we had a couple of extras, and when we popped them in, the remotes worked perfectly. The only issue was the thermostat. It is a Nest model, and we didn’t know how to set it. Need some instructions on that! Also we didn’t know how to get water to flow into the bathtub. It would come out of the handheld, but we didn’t see a lever to switch the water flow to the faucet. Other than that, we had an excellent time!

We had a wonderful visit with several family members. We rented two tree houses; tranquility and owls nest. They are side-by-side, and we’re the perfect set up to have several families together. Tranquility was especially wonderful for hosting dinners and for family get together‘s due to the large living room and country kitchen. We highly recommend these two tree houses and plan on visiting soon again !

The house was beautiful and in a great location. Slept our family of 5 plus a grandparent very comfortably. The woodsy views from the house were beautiful and it was nice to have a couple restaurants and small grocery right in the subdivision. The downtown area of black mountain was only about a 5 minute drive away, with plenty of restaurants and shopping available. Downtown Asheville only about 20 minutes away. Would absolutely consider staying here again.

Our accommodations were perfect for our family reunion over Memorial Day weekend. Our treehouse was stocked with everything we needed. Loved the Murphy bed, I want one. Such beautiful nature all around us in the neighborhood. Can't wait to return.

We thought the house was lovely - from the location to the furnishings. It was quiet, peaceful and we loved sitting on the lower covered deck in the morning and evening. The house was very clean and actually didn't look like other homes we have rented in the past (which are usually a bit beaten up from previous renters). We thought the master bedroom mattress was super comfy and we slept great. We loved the overall feel of the home and it was definitely well stocked for our stay. The loaf of pumpkin bread was yummy - what a nice touch :) Overall, I would definitely recommend this house!!

This was our 2nd time using Greybeard Rentals- Both visits were what I'd hoped for! We absolutely loved staying in the Village of Cheshire. Our house was beautiful and comfortable. The paths around and up to our treehouse were unique and a joy to walk with our dog. The house was so close to all the shops and restaurants in Black Mountain it was easy to eat out every meal and return to the house to relax in between! (3 levels = lots of stairs!)

Loved the house and the Cheshire Village. We enjoyed visiting Asheville and Black Mountain. Loved the walking trails in Cheshire as well as we had a rainy weekend, so the mulched trails were nice with our dog.

We loved the convenience of this property. So close to downtown Black Mountain and Asheville we loved the walking paths through the neighborhood too. . The trip through the Biltmore House was amazing.

What an absolutely darling home! It truly was a "tree house". We adored the magical village of Cheshire and it's proximity to everything we wanted to do. We loved that everyone had their own space to retreat to in this home, yet could gather around a cozy fire at night with a glass of wine, chatting about our day. Sitting on the porch listening to the rain was also quite a treat. The owners have done a lovely job creating a comfortable and well appointed place to be. We also loved that we could take walks every morning with our pup around the beautiful neighborhood. This sweet home made us fall in love with the village, and has inspired us to look for our own slice of heaven. Staying at the Tranquil Treehouse, was just what we needed! We were very sad to leave.

House was delightful and exactly as advertised. Community is beautiful and it was nice to have a gourmet grocery close. Had everything we needed and really appreciated high end kitchen as my daughter and I both like to cook and eating out was not on the agenda due to Covid.

Property was clean and well-appointed. The welcome kit and delicious bread was much appreciated. Perfect place for my family of four and lazy golden retriever. The porches were a hit after hiking. Great place to relax and read. Close to hiking and restaurants. Liked being able to walk to the little breakfast place at the entrance.

We had a wonderful experience at this property. It was well roomy, super clean, and thoughtfully appointed. The little touches (pet treats/baked pumpkin bread/ supply closet) were exceptional. Highly recommended.

Greybeard Rentals made the rental process incredibly smooth from beginning to end and we highly recommend them. My family of four with kids sixteen and thirteen and our eighty-five pound dog recently spent five nights at Tranquility Treehouse and loved it. Even though the houses on the cul de sac were close together, because we were tucked into the trees it felt very private. The Village of Cheshire is a small upscale community with both full and part-time residents. There are three restaurants and a small gourmet market to which you can walk. We drove our Honda Pilot. It just fit into the parking area shared with the house next door. Overflow parking is literally about 50 feet from the front porch so it was never an issue. The house was spectacularly clean and incredibly cozy and charming with a Pottery Barn-ish aesthetic. The well-equipped kitchen had everything you'd need to prepare meals. Some staples were provided (spices, coffee filters). Greybeard left us a delicious loaf of a local bakery's pumpkin bread and a small starter kit with detergents and a collapsible dog bowl. Ingles supermarket is a five-minute drive. The owners left a grocery card in the cabinet so you could get sale prices. On the main level there's the kitchen, a half bath, and the family room with fireplace. The kids slept on the lower level. There's a double or queen bed- not sure on size- and a Murphy bed. On this level there's a full bath and washer / dryer and a gas fireplace. We spent each night relaxing on the small deck off this level. The top floor houses the spacious master bedroom and bath. There are two balconies off this bedroom. All mattresses provided a good night sleep. There's a SMART tv in the living room and a mounted tv in the master. Wi-Fi speed was lightening fast. We were in downtown Asheville and parked within 20 minutes. Downtown Black Mountain was a 5-10 minute drive. There you'll find a few shops, restaurants, and coffee places. The community offers enough green space to walk your dog. Right across from Village of Cheshire there's an easy hike. We were told it's about two miles. The house is spread over three levels with many stairs so if you have young kids or people with ambulatory issues, that may be an issue. There are no doors to divide levels, so noise travels. After exploring the area, we were glad we chose this house as opposed to being in downtown Asheville. The house made us feel like we were visiting the mountains and we enjoyed relaxing there after long days. Not all windows have screens and curtains, so you're on display at night and might need to use the ac so bugs don't fly in. Both heat and ac worked well. We really loved this house and would stay again if in the area.

We had great communication from the rental agency. The home was clean and neat and organized. It is in a beautiful area of Black Mountain with other beautiful homes in the neighborhood and trails, restaurants, etc. nearby and within a short walking distance. It was very quiet. The home was very simply and tastefully decorated and the kitchen was well equipped. All the linens etc were in good shape and everything appeared new. The balconies are charming. We vacationed with my 3 daughters who stayed in the downstairs bedroom. It was a quick drive to downtown Black Mountain and only about 20 minutes to Biltmore and to Asheville. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The house was located in a great neighborhood with convenient access to downtown Black Mountain, Asheville, hiking and the Biltmore. The house was clean and well maintained. The only maintenance item to post is that the faucet in the bathtub was not working. Greybeard was a pleasure to work with as well. We will be back

We loved staying at Tranquility cabin. It’s a small cabin that delivers in a big way. Very efficient use of space on a quiet street. It’s just a few minutes to Asheville yet your in the woods which is a win/win. You have that peaceful, relaxed atmosphere but can get to the Biltmore, restaurants and shopping in a few min. The house is lovely and had everything we needed. We look forward to another visit.

Our vacation rental was a peaceful treehouse in a lovely community! We enjoyed the home, neighborhood and walking a short distance to the village center for coffee and dinner. It was close to the Blue Rudge Parkway and Asheville. It was a great stay that allowed us to bring our 2 canine family members. It was absolutely “perfect” for us.

The house, neighborhood & location were all perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults & 2 teenagers). The house is adorable, completely updated & at the same time quaint. Two bedrooms but the one downstairs has both a double bed & Murphy bed. Five-minute walk down the street to a cute coffee shop, a restaurant/tavern and a great sushi restaurant too. Quick 20-minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, downtown Asheville & the river where we kayaked. Wished we were able to stay longer and would definitely visit again!

Tranquility Treehouse was perfect. The Greybeard staff responded promptly when we discovered the downstairs bathroom sink was not draining. Instructions for everything possibly needed are posted in the kitchen. We had six women staying in the house. We chose to put 3 in each bedroom. 4 people downstairs would be crowded. A full length mirror somewhere in the master bedroom would be a nice addition. Also a Bear Box or larger outdoor trash can would be helpful.

Our family had a wonderful getaway at tranquility treehouse. The house is fabulous and the setting is so beautiful!
We loved black mountain, Asheville, and the blue ridge parkway.
We also had daily visits from bears that loved our trash cans!!!
It was truly a great vacation and we would love to come back to this special property again!

Three generations plus my daughter's friend had a wonderful visit - so comfortable, clean and cozy. We love Black Mountain and the proximity to Asheville and all the things we wanted to do in the area was perfect. We will absolutely rent this place again - furnishings were fabulous! (can't say enough about the comfy beds!)

I had a wonderful stay at Tranquility Treehouse. My only regreat is that I didn't think about the stairs. It was a bit much for me at 90, but the weather more than compensated.. I would suggest that the owners put screens on the downstairs windows and door. My family would have liked some ventilation.

Greybeard and the staff were a true pleasure. The time they took on the phone making recommendations and such was Southern hospitality at its best. A bit different than the northeast! We had a great vacation in the Asheville area and it all started with staying in a clean and beautifully furnished home. Having the two bedrooms separated by the living floor is a great design. The community is very nice with restaurants at the entrance. The town of Black Mountain is also very quaint, has a lot of eating options and arguably has its own, different, appeal vs Asheville. We would highly recommend staying in this home.

This house was absolutely beautiful. The pictures cannot capture the beauty of the Tranquility Treehouse. The house is very new inside. It features many luxury accents, such as the bluetooth speakers in the ceiling and recessed lighting on the front porch. The owners really took care to provide everything we could need for our stay. The house definitely does have a tranquil vibe. Greybeard Realty was also wonderful to deal with. They went above and beyond, leaving a fresh-baked loaf of bread and a bottle of wine for us to celebrate our marriage (our stay was for our honeymoon). We will definitely be recommending this to anyone who is planning a trip to the Asheville area! Not a single complaint about this stay.

Our family of 4 enjoyed the Treehouse during the week of Christmas. The treehouse was perfectly equipped for our needs. The kids enjoyed the apple TV and separate space downstairs while we enjoyed the top level master. The kitchen was equipped with top quality items which suited our desire to cook several meals. Throughout the home are little gems of entertainment. The sound system throughout the home and porch really enhanced our visit. We also found games, puzzles, books, and a great collection of DVDs. Cheshire Village is one of our favorite spots to visit. Our goal was to relax and stay near the cabin. Cheshire Village is the perfect escape with wonderful amenities. The Artisan has gourmet groceries, wine, and coffee. The Asian restaurant was our favorite, we let our teens walk down several evenings. The community is secluded, quiet, and laid out really well. Tranquility Treehouse is our new favorite in the village.

cheshire village is the perfect base for an Asheville vacation. property is perfect for two people, but could use some interior paint and attention to the master bath. kitchen is tight but adequate. porch faces sun so not useable in the afteroon

Tranquility Treehouse was a Great get away place, very well furnished, great views, really like being up in a treehouse while sitting on the back deck. Location was convenient to interstate, to Biltmore, Asheville, and Black Mountain's little town. The only negative was that the parking was not the best.

I really enjoyed my stay at this home. The home was simple beautiful. And everything perfect. From the indoors to the outdoors. I loved it ,but if you have any problems climbing stairs then this home is not for you. On the other side its a great way to get into shape.

This home was perfect for our North Carolina getaway with our good friends. The top floor of the house is a master bedroom retreat with a spa like bathroom. The bottom floor is a second bedroom with a gas fireplace and balcony overlooking walking paths. The house is appointed beautifully and every housekeeping item is provided.

FAQs

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance . Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Tranquility Treehouse is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash. 

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Tranquility Treehouse has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and dial extension 203, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Tranquility Treehouse has a gas logs fireplace for guests to use. Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit, which is not provided at Tranquility Treehouse. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Tranquility Treehouse. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
