On the main level, a modern kitchen boasts upgraded appliances with vintage-style charm, and a custom breakfast bar provides seating for 2. Step into the open-concept living room with exposed beams and thoughtful furnishings to plan the next day's adventure, or enjoy a meal in the dining area overlooking the deck. Also on the main level is the primary bedroom with a king-size bed and a full bathroom with hallway access. Outside, take advantage of the wraparound deck that offers outdoor dining with bistro-style lighting and a gas grill. The lower level of the home is the heart of entertainment! Here, you'll find a pop-a-shot basketball game, a 44" Roku TV for streaming, and access to a private, covered deck with seating. Cozy seating and a mini-refrigerator add to the appeal of this bonus space. The lower level also offers two bedrooms, one with two twin beds and one with a queen-size bed, along with a full bath complete with a step-in shower and laundry room.

Full of charm and style, this lovingly restored home is a 5-minute drive from the heart of Black Mountain, yet the private and tranquil setting at The Sunset Chalet will make you feel as if you're in a world all your own!

Please note: The wood-burning fireplace in the living room is NOT available for guest use. This home is pet friendly with an additional fee. This home offers easy entry for guests with mobility concerns. There are two mini-split air conditioners upstairs, but there is no AC system on the lower level.

We spent 7 weeks recently at the Sunset Chalet in Black Mountain NC. Graybeard rental was definitely 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Clean, comfortable, even the bear was friendly that walked about early Tuesday am to review the garbage outside in the cans. Will definitely rent again in Black Mountain NC with Greybeard.

Comfortable, clean rental. Our family enjoyed our visit there. The only draw back was there were no TV's in the downstairs bedrooms where our adult children stayed. Otherwise a nice place for a getaway.

Comfortable cabin in the woods

Ideally located in the woods with the town 5 minutes away. Enjoyed the large back deck. Comfortable beds. No space for groceries in the kitchen. We were there for a month and moved the small dresser from the twin bedroom and used it to store food. It fit perfectly. The kitchen. Recommend the owner purchase something similar for food storage. A bear showed up the 2nd week and got in the garbage forcing us to keep the garbage in the house until day of pick up. Owner may want to consider installing a bear-proof trash receptacle. Will definitely recommend this home!

Our family had a wonderful time at the Sunset Chalet. Our stay was very relaxing and comfortable. We felt like we were in a tree house in the middle of the woods. I look forward to staying there again. The home was very clean and beautiful.

Great location. Black Mountain very pet friendly with nice restaurants. Would definitely stay at the Sunset Chalet again. Nice cabin and very clean.

Our stay at the Sunset Chalet was for only a couple of days but was very pleasant and comfortable. We had a small family reunion and the house served as a warm backdrop for everyone. My little grandson loved the downstairs basketball shooting game - great idea to have a separate play space for both the young and old. We cooked hamburgers on the outside gas grill which was a great amenity. The kitchen even though small was perfect. The only downside we experienced were issues with the upstairs TV signal freezing up. The guys were watching basketball and we’re a bit disappointed with the freeze frames or unresponsive signals. It happened on the downstairs TV but not as bad. The Ingles grocery store just a short drive from the house is fabulous and will provide visitors with just about anything needed. I would love to have time at The Sunset Chalet during warmer weather to be able to enjoy the spacious deck with outdoor dining space. A wonderful find!

FAQs

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

The Sunset Chalet is located in Black Mountain. This home approximately a 5-minute drive to downtown Black Mountain and a 25-minute drive to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

The Sunset Chalet is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

The Sunset Chalet has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

IS THERE AN OUTDOOR FIRE PIT? 

The Sunset Chalet does not provide an outdoor fire pit. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside since the property is not fitted with a fire ring/fire pit, and you cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at The Sunset Chalet. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
