Tucked at the end of a quiet street in Montreat, a valley cove nestled at the foot of Greybeard Mountain and the beloved Blue Ridge Mountains, Quillan's End provides that cozy cottage feel along with modern, immaculate interior furnishings and is within walking distance of Lake Susan, Robert Lake Playground, and Montreat Conference Center activities. From the covered front porch with a swing and rocking chairs perfect for reading or enjoying your morning cup of coffee to the cozy living room with a charming rock fireplace and flip-of-a-switch gas logs to the spacious stone patio out back that overlooks a small basketball court (basketball is stored in the laundry room) to the fire pit and fenced backyard surrounded by lush woods and spacious grassy play area, this home is perfect for family or groups of friends and encourages relaxation, fun, and fellowship.

House layout (all one level): Open floor plan with living room, featuring a TV for streaming and gas logs; the dining area with seating for 8; Fully equipped Kitchen with Wolf range, dishwasher, microwave, and granite countertops. There is a bedroom with a king bed. The second bedroom has 4 twin beds. There is a full hallway bathroom. The master bedroom also has a king bed and en-suite full bathroom.

This carefully conceived and achieved remodeled cottage, ensured maximum use, comfort, safety, and guest socialization.What the owners have done is to provide a wonderfully welcoming, gracious, spacious, and carefully appointed space for small groups (6 beds, two baths). As a lifelong Montreater, this house is one of the best rental spaces I have seen. The only possible improvement would be to add more regular spoons in their silverware drawer. That should indicate how utterly positive and appreciative we were about this special place. We Shall Return!

The house was perfect - completely stocked, very comfortable and in a great location. We loved the large kitchen and being able to accommodate our group for meals. But our very favorite part was the backyard with the fire pit and the basketball court. We spent hours out there!

The cottage was perfect, and the customer service with Greybeard Rental team was extraordinary! We had several changes and shifts, and at each call (regardless of the time) I was able to speak to a team member who made me feel appreciated and immediately helped.

House is small but lovely, very clean and well appointed. Very comfortable and great location. Also appreciate that they provide linens and towels.

Wonderful place to stay! Very clean, and had everything we needed for our family's vacation.
The yard was gorgeous- it even had a stream- and loved waking up to birdsong in the morning. Great location in Montreat - it is a short walk to several trails, playground, and Lake Susan. We would stay here again!

We absolutely loved our pre-Christmas stay! Quillan's End was an adorable cottage with every amenity we needed to hike, cook, relax, and just enjoy. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Thank you to Greybeard staff for making everything easy and effortless but most of all for having kind and caring people who made us feel welcome and well cared for. Can't wait to be back!

We truly enjoyed everything about our stay at Quillan's End! The home was perfect... immaculate & cozy and fully stocked with everything you might need or want! We enjoyed games by the fireplace, s'mores in the fire pit, a family of deer greeting us at night in the front yard, and a mama bear and her 3 cubs wandering the yard by moonlight! Every staff member I spoke with from reservations, to excursions, recommendations, to real estate, the team is top notch! We will definitely return & recommend highly to anyone wanting to be close enough to Asheville, yet have a tranquil mountain experience from a comfortable distance!

We loved out stay at Quillan's End. Such a clean home with great amenties. Our kids love the basketball court, fire pit and large open kitchen!

FAQs

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Quillan's End is located in Montreat. This home is approximately 10 minutes to Black Mountain and 30 minutes to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Quillan's End is not “pet friendly”. Please be respectful of those owners who, because of allergies or other personal reasons, have chosen not to allow any pets. If housekeeping notes that a pet was present on a non-pet friendly property during your visit, you will be charged a minimum of $600 to clean carpets, upholstered furniture and complete air purification measures. Bringing a pet to a house that is not pet-friendly without owner consent or permission from Greybeard is grounds for termination of the rental agreement without refund. If you must travel with your pet, please contact us for local boarding recommendations. More info about service animals and the ADA is available here.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival. Early check-in is not available during the summer conference season.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Quillan's End has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. Absolutely NO fires are permitted outside unless the property is fitted with a fire ring/fire pit. You cannot bring your own portable fire pit.

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Quillan's End. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
