Upon entering the home, you'll immediately be greeted by the floor-to-ceiling windows that offer spectacular woodland views along with the spacious open layout. The gourmet kitchen offers everything you could possibly need and more—from the gas range stove to the stainless appliances to the coffee cart equipped with a grinder, French Press, and dual machine drip and Keurig with reusable filters to the added bonuses like an Instapot and waffle iron-cooking will be a pleasure instead of a chore.

The dining area accommodates up to 6 and provides the perfect place to savor delicious food and great conversation while the chic living area provides the perfect spot to cozy up around the gas logs fireplace and take advantage of the 50" Smart TV, DVD player, and movie collection, board games, and easy deck access. Venture outside to find the impeccably-appointed covered deck area with a 6-person high-top dining table that's perfect for enjoying your meals together while taking advantage of the temperate mountain climate. In addition to the dining table, there is also a grilling station with a sleek new gas grill and wine cooler and a corner nook perfect spot for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.

Just off the deck is the gorgeous stone fire pit area with Adirondack seating for up to 4 that reveals stunning views of Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain. Other outdoor features include exclusive access to Arbor community amenities such as the covered pavilion area with wood-burning fireplace and park-style grills. While beautiful, the remote location of most mountain homes often means sacrificing internet connection and speed, but at Mountain Days, their high-speed internet starts at over 100 MBPS enabling seamless streaming, web surfing, and zoom video conferencing.

Located just 45 minutes outside of Asheville in Nebo, NC, this stunning lakeside gem is the perfect place to vacation and enjoy everything the Lake James area has to offer. Enjoy nearby hiking trails like the Fonta Flora Trail Loop or John Rock Trail before grabbing a refreshing craft beer at Fonta Flora's open-air brewery at Whippoorwill Farm. If you're interested in experiencing small-town charm during your stay, take a short 10-minute drive to explore the shops, galleries, restaurants, and breweries like Mica Town Brewing Company and Spillway Bridge & Co. in downtown Marion.

Please note: This home is pet-friendly with an additional fee. This home has exterior cameras facing the driveway & a ring doorbell camera. This home is located within the Arbor subdivision of Lake James and offers exclusive access to community amenities that include a covered pavilion area with a wood-burning fireplace and several park-style grills. While this home is close to Lake James, it is not lakefront and does not offer its own private boat dock.

The cabin was clean and well stocked. Team was easily accessible and replied promptly to requests. We had some water pressure issues as well as gate code issues, but they were responsive and addressed the issues quickly.

Beautiful home, location, and views

Everything about this place is welcoming...even the neighbors! Loved the split floorplan, garage access, and the finishes. Mountain Days was a great option for our family while visiting the area for a reunion at Lake James. We had 3 couples and 2 dogs and the size was perfect. Loved the porch (and the porch view) as well as the firepit. BONUS was garage access to keep our vehicle out of the summer heat. Neighborhood was quiet, lots of birds and wildlife. Dogs loved their walks in the neighborhood, and the friendliness of all.

I've stayed here twice and rented this place for my clients when they fly into town. Beautiful home. Spacious, but cozy. Beautiful yard, patio, and fire pit. The cleaning was superb! Looking forward to the next visit.

Mountain Days was perfect for our family of four (including two teenagers). The house was stocked with everything we needed and the location was great - 3 minutes by car to the boat dock, 15 minutes into Marion for supplies or dinner. Made a fire in the pit several nights where we were joined by adorable frogs. Wished the water pressure was stronger, but the amenities outweighed the inconvenience. Great memories were made at Mountain Days!

Super clean and modern, spacious bedrooms and everyone has its own bathroom. Really well equipped kitchen. Yard is beautiful and fire pit top notch. Enjoyed the house very much. Only little hiccup is I didn’t understand what the distance between a slip and a dock is. I thought we had lake access. But had a good time anyways. Everyone had a good time.

The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and met all of our needs. The location allowed us to go boating on Lake James and swimming at the beach. Just sitting on the back deck was enjoyable as well. We experienced a brief power outage and the staff was helpful in keeping us informed of the issue.

The space was very clean with comfortable beds , a well stocked kitchen and convenience to Lake James. We enjoyed the fire pit on our last night and it was great!

In the mountains and next to the lake, a perfect combination. Our home was in a gated community with lots of lush wooded areas to relax and was very quiet, so could enjoy the peacefulness. Everything was nearby, no more than a ten minute drive to the lake, trails and brewery.

What a fantastic home! Exactly what we wanted - close to world class hiking & directly on Lake James, close enough to Asheville when we wanted to enjoy all that amazing area has to offer & all while enjoying total luxury in virtually a newly built home that had all of the items needed to have an easy & comfortable stay. Can't wait to stay @ Mountain Days again.

The house is beautiful, brand new and immaculately clean. We cooked Thanksgiving in the kitchen and it was well stocked with pots, pans and cooking utensils. We enjoyed the wooded views from all the windows, especially the main living area. The gas fireplace created a cozy indoor environment and the outdoor fire pit was perfect for night time s'mores. It is close to a community hiking trail and walk to the lake. We also enjoyed hiking the Fonta Flora Trail, which is a short drive away. We highly recommend this cabin and hope to come back again.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Mountain Days is located within close proximity to Lake James. This home is approximately 10 minutes to Marion, 30 minutes to Morganton, 35 minutes to Black Mountain, 50 minutes to Asheville, and an hour to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Mountain Days at Lake James is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Mountain Days at Lake James has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival, allowing you to go straight to the house and check-in starting at 4pm.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHEN ARE HOMES WITH GAS LOGS IN OPERATION?

Mountain Days at Lake James has an indoor gas logs fireplace. Gas logs are not in operation May through September due to the warmer summer months. 

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD PROVIDED?

Mountain Days at Lake James has an outdoor fire pit. While firewood is not supplied by Greybeard, some houses may have a small leftover supply of firewood for renter use. However, we strongly recommend purchasing your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store. Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited, but you can use limbs found on the ground. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Mountain Days at Lake James. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.

WHERE AND HOW DO I ACQUIRE A BOAT RENTAL IN LAKE JAMES?

While Mountain Days at Lake James is in close proximity to the lake, it is NOT lakefront. However, it does offer a private boat slip on Lake James. For questions regarding boat rentals, please contact the Lake James Neighborhood Store (828) 391-8600 or Noah’s Landing (828) 707-2174.
