Heaven's Point offers breathtaking views from inside and out. This lovely cabin is located in Gateway Mountain Nature Preserve which includes 3000 acres of woodland, with hiking trails, a small lake, and waterfalls. Enjoy the serenity of the mountains, without the typical light pollution. Nighttime is perfect for star-gazing and spotting a shooting star from the deck or soaking in the newly added hot tub. Large great room with vaulted ceilings has floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the mountain views.

The main floor offers a spacious bedroom with a king bed, twin trundle bed, and full bath. The living room has a beautiful stone, wood-burning fireplace, and TV. The dining table seats 6 and opens to the living room and kitchen. The upper level has a second large master suite with a king bed and private bath with a large soaker tub (no shower). The lower level has a full bath with a walk-shower and an unfinished basement with a ping pong table, pool table, and living area complete with a sleeper sofa. 

Heaven's Point is located approximately 10 minutes from I-40. Black Mountain is only 20-25 minutes away and Asheville is 35-40 minutes away. Some other local attractions: Catawba Falls trails are within a 15-minute drive. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are approximately a 30-minute drive. Linville Gorge is within 45 minutes and the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway is only 30 minutes away.

Please note: This home is pet-friendly with an additional pet fee. As of January 2024, central heating and air have been added to the basement area (which includes the game room, living area, and full bathroom) along with a portable space heater. During the colder winter months, icy and/or snowy road conditions and delayed snow plow operations are possible within the development.

From December through March, please come prepared with AWD or 4WD vehicles. We also recommend travel insurance for those staying in the Gateway Mountain development during the winter months. No parking is allowed on roadways or at gate entrances. No RVs, boat trailers, camping trailers, or trailers of any kind are permitted in the Gateway Mountain Community.

The location is peaceful and the view is gorgeous. The house was very comfortable and clean but the bathrooms are dated. The upstairs bathroom had a tub but did not have a shower. Old Fort has a couple of very good restaurants. We hiked the Catawba Falls trails. Overall I enjoyed the trip and will return in the future.

The property, aptly named Heaven's Point, truly lived up to its heavenly reputation. Offering breathtaking vistas, immaculate accommodations, and a cutting-edge hot tub for unwinding after strenuous hikes, the cabin provided unparalleled comfort. The responsive and knowledgeable staff promptly addressed any inquiries, ensuring a seamless experience. We have used Greybeard several times (always a wonderful experience) over the past ten years and I can easily say that this home had the best view of any of our stays. The home was well kept and very comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay here if you enjoy sitting on the porch and taking in the scenery.

We stayed at Heaven's Point for our 11 year wedding anniversary from October 4th-October 7th and it was wonderful! The cabin was clean and had everything we could of needed for our visit. (The only thing we had to buy was a lighter for the fireplace, but we ended up not starting a fire since it wasn't chilly enough until the last day) We played ping pong and pool almost every night as well. The cabin is situated at the very top of the mountain and had absolutely gorgeous views. I would recommend Heaven's Point to anyone looking to get away from the noise of the city. Also while in Old Fort I highly recommend looking up The Catawba Angler and asking for Matt (the owner) to set up a guided fly fishing tour. We had a great time on the water with him!

My wife and I recently stayed at Heaven's Point back in late April, 2023. The rental exceeded our expectations: the pictures were exactly as advertised and weren't misleading at all, the views were spectacular, and it was also the cleanest vacation rental we've ever stayed at. Heaven's Point is appropriately named. I was a wonderful place to stay and exceeded all expectations. It is located in a spectacular site with unbelievable views in all directions. The cabin is extremely well maintained and super clean.

There is a very comfortable black leather sofa in the living room. It is great for sitting in, but if you lay down for just a minute, you will fall asleep. I laid on it three times and the sleep monster immediately grabbed me on each occasion.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we are already planning to return in the future.

Heavens Point was perfect for our family. We stayed downstairs and our girls stayed upstairs. We all had plenty of room and our girls loved the big bed and big tub the second floor provided. I could be found out on the back deck enjoying the views as often as possible while drinking my coffee. Only about a 35-40 minute drive to downtown Asheville and about 15 minutes to great hiking at Catawba Falls. The house is so well-appointed with everything you could need, we truly felt at home here. We were pulling out of the driveway and the kids were already asking when we could come back.

The peace and tranquility of being right on top of the mountain. The house was amazing and we loved every minute of it. We also saw a lot of wildlife during our stay including a black bear!

The views were incredible. The house itself was very private, well appointed, and comfortable. We appreciate having our dog with us. She loved basking on the deck. Greybeard is wonderful to work with--great communication and responsiveness.

Can't beat a morning coffee on the porch watching and listening to all the birds. The views are amazing. Communication and check in process super easy. Well stocked kitchen with utensils for anything you want to make. Clean, great location. Feels very secluded and safe.

The view from Heavens Point is absolutely stunning, this cabin is on top of a mountain! The drive getting up is beautiful and fairly easy with our SUV. It's about 35-40 mins outside of downtown Asheville but doesn't feel that long and a lot of awesome best hikes are within 20 mins of the house. There also is a super neat brewery right on a creek in Old Fort where the cabin is. Kitchen is very well stocked for all the cooking supplies and dishes you would need! The host was very easy to work with as well and even granted us a late checkout. The ONLY thing I would ding would be an updated coffee pot it just took a abnormally long time to brew, fairly noisy, and difficult to dump the grinds without spilling them. If you want to be tucked away in the mountain, drink coffee on your deck with breathtaking views, and an easy trip into Asheville this is the place for you.

The house is beautiful and at the very top of the mountain. The view is wonderful and the location worked out very well for us. Linens and cleaning supplies were provided. Definitely bring groceries on the first trip up to save a trip back to town. We had phone service at the house (at the top of the mountain) but driving there not so much. Having a map or printed directions definitely helps; local roads are very twisty and can be confusing. All told, we would definitely book there again.

The cabin really is at the top of a mountain with great views. We came at a time where weather was not on our side so the view was obstructed by fog which also made the drive up to the cabin a little scary for us Floridians. We would definitely recommend 4WD. The rooms are spacious and was a relaxing getaway only 40 minutes from Asheville.

We loved this home! The views are spectacular. It was very clean and had everything we needed! Plus it's very own use & add pantry. We enjoyed the fireplace and taking walks throughout the mountain. The location gave us some great exercise due to the steeper inclines.

The view from the cabin is one of the best I've ever had from a mountain rental. It was just stunning. And all of the windows along the back plus the large back porch allowed us to enjoy the view constantly.

The view is the best we’ve seen.

Small kitchen if that matters to you. Comfortable beds . Plenty of room. They had Roku TVs so we were able to login to our Netflix accounts, which made the kids happy.

The downstairs bath/ shower never got cold so everyone just bathed upstairs.

The internet connection is intermittent but all I personally cared about was that fabulous view!

Also, ping pong in the basement.

It would be nice to have a book with local things to do. We used the website romanticasheville and that was very helpful. Plus I left tons of maps etc

The directions were a little off from the company but we figured it out. Oh and the address is wrong but only by one number:)

Heaven's Point cabin was the perfect weekend getaway. The cabin was clean with all the amenities anyone would need. Perched on top of the mountain gave use wonderful views and dramatic sunrise. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a perfect experience. I would also like to add the management company was a delight to deal with.

We stayed for five days over Christmas and we very much enjoyed the property! It truly was on the mountain top with a fabulous view. Very private and peaceful.

We had an awesome time staying at the cabin. The porches provided for some much needed quiet time.The ride up to the cabin was always an experience with the ever changing wildlife.

This cabin is the best one we've ever stayed in. The view is spectacular, and the cabin is private (at the end of the road on the top of the mountain). There are two bedrooms with king size beds. It was immaculately clean and so homey. We enjoyed the fireplace, and the well-equipped kitchen, and the outdoor table on the deck. It could not have been better except that we would like to have stayed longer! We highly recommend this property and we'll be back!

The view and house were wonderful. First trip with our dog and she loved the deck and walks. The staff were very helpful when contacted. The only reason we contacted them was a user problem. The house was clean and well appointed. Old Fort and Black Mountain are great little towns with Black Mountain having wonderful restaurants and vibrant historical downtown. The Catawba Falls hike was a wonderful hike (1.2 miles one way) with wide graded path.

We liked Heaven's Point. Cleanliness and condition of the cabin was exceptional. The Greybeard staff were very professional and customer service was exceptional. The view was breathtaking. The only thing that was upsetting was the tree close to the deck was full of tree web catapillars which was unpleasant when sitting on the deck.
We would rent here again by ourselves but it would be difficult to invite others since there was no shower in the upstairs bathroom. The cabin was beautiful!

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful newer property with the great mountain view. It's even nicer than the description. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable. The setting was very peaceful and secluded. The drive into Black Mountain takes about 30 minutes. I enjoyed talking with the rep from Graybeard; she was gracious and professional. We brought food and drink with us and used the gas grill, but we also ate out in Asheville, Black Mountain, and Marion. Our favorite restaurant was the Sunny Point Caf in Asheville. We would definitely recommend Heaven's Point and would love to stay there again.

WHERE IS THIS HOUSE LOCATED?

Heaven's Point is located in Old Fort. This home is approximately a 30-minute drive to Black Mountain and Marion, and approximately a 45-minute drive to Asheville. Click on the location tab above to locate this house on a map.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY?

If you need to cancel your reservation and the property you had reserved re-rents for the time which you had it reserved, you will be refunded all money you had paid minus an $89 cancellation fee. If you cancel and the property does not re-rent for your reserved dates, you will lose all money you have paid to that point. For this reason, we recommend that you purchase trip insurance. Please call 888-228-8008 before making a reservation if you have questions or concerns.

WHEN IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED?

Security deposits are returned within 30 days of guest departure.

WHAT IS YOUR PET POLICY AND FEE?

Heaven's Point is specified as "pet friendly" and dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, due to common allergy problems we cannot allow cats. For the privilege of bringing your dog, there is a minimum charge of $100 nonrefundable fee per pet. A maximum of two dogs are allowed unless you have received special permission from the property manager or homeowner. Any damage that may be caused by your pet during your stay will be paid for out of your security deposit or charged to the credit card we have on file. There is a county-wide leash law in place. When taking your dog outside of a gated area, please ensure that they are on a leash.

WHAT ARE CHECK-IN/CHECK OUT TIMES?

Check-in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. It is important that we adhere to these times, because there is a chance that someone else will be checking out/in before or after you and we need sufficient time to ready the house for the next renter. If you wish to check-in early, there is a $50 early check-in fee that can be added on to your reservation. Early check-in is only available if someone is not checking out on the morning of your arrival.

WHERE DO WE CHECK-IN/PICK UP KEYS?

Heaven's Point is located in a gated community. You must go to our Old Fort Office at 243 Catawba Ave S to pick up your gate card. Driving directions to our Old Fort Office, along with access instructions will be sent out via email. Once you have picked up your gate card, you can proceed to the house. Please do not rely on GPS. We will provide you with driving directions to Heaven's Point from our Old Fort Office. 

Heaven's Point has a keyless entry system. You will receive a unique access code within 3 days of your arrival.

WHAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY DURING OUR STAY?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from the phone in your rental home or cell phone.

We hope that your stay in the area will be relaxing and without incident, but should you need to get in touch with Greybeard, we have someone on call 24 hours a day. Just call our office at 828-669-1072 and select option 1, which will forward to the cell phone of the person on call. Please do not hesitate to call us if something needs immediate attention, but if your question or concern can wait, we ask that you call the office during normal office hours.

WILL THERE BE FIREWOOD AT THE HOUSE?

This home provides an indoor wood-burning fireplace. Firewood is not supplied by Greybeard. Some houses will have a small supply of firewood for renter use; however, it is best to purchase your own small bundle of wood or Duraflame pressed logs at the local grocery store. 

Cutting branches, limbs or trees on the property is strictly prohibited. You can use limbs found on the ground. Since this home does not provide an ourdoor fire pit, absolutely NO fires are permitted outside, and you cannot bring your own portable fire pit. 

IS WIFI SERVICE INCLUDED WITH MY RENTAL RESERVATION? WILL I HAVE CELL PHONE SERVICE AT MY RENTAL?

Wifi is available at Heaven's Point. Please note that Greybeard Rentals does not guarantee internet connectivity or speed. Each individual homeowner contracts directly with an internet service provider, and due to a variety of reasons, Greybeard does not guarantee service. Our Black Mountain and Asheville offices have wifi service available if needed.

Cell phone service is not guaranteed. You may check with your service provider to see if service is available.
