Things to know:
This hike is for advanced hikers only. The Gorge is one of the most difficult, rugged and remote areas east of the Mississippi. There is a reason it is known as "The Grand Canyon of the East". And it is all Federal Wilderness Territory, which means none of the trails are marked or maintained. The flowers are at the bottom of the gorge, this means dropping over 2,000ft on the way in and climbing up that distance on the way out. All participants should be in good shape and prepared for a very difficult hike. The trail conditions can be difficult as this is Wilderness area. There are steep drops, loose rock/dirt and areas that are up to a 40% grade. Hikers must have adequate hiking shoes and apparel for the hike in and out of the Gorge.
Please note: This hike is a group hike and not a guided hike. Tickets are for transportation to and from the trailhead and not for any guiding service. Find additional information and reserve your spot here.
