The 16th Annual Livermush Festival in Marion (35 miles from Asheville) is held each year on the first Saturday in June from 5-9:00 PM. The streets are closed and the downtown area becomes an open space for the community to celebrate this southern staple! The historic Main Street is filled with a variety of vendors, a long line for the coveted liver mush sandwich, hog calling, and cheers for the liver mush eating contest.
P.S. In case ya don't know, Livermush is a pork and cornmeal product made for generations by folks coming south through the Appalachian Mountains!
